Light Wings Pavilion
The pavilion was designed for the "Fairy Houses and Forts" event at Powell Gardens in Kingsville, Missouri. It is planned to be constructed and installed in May of 2012 and stay until early October.

The Light Wings Pavilion creates an ever changing experience through the interplay of light and shadow. Sunlight enters the space through a CNC cutout in the roof casting illuminated fairy wings on the opposite wall. Children are invited to interact with the light imagining themselves with their own fairy wings. Smaller wing cutouts adorn panels throughout the pavilion lighting up at various times throughout the day as the sun moves across the sky. The pavilion will be constructed of otherwise unusable 2×4 drops – a common waste product of any construction site. These leftover boards are arranged around a radius creating a relatively smooth interior surface and a dynamic exterior skin.
